Weekend Adventure Club brings child-led play and Forest School principles to 3 – 5 year olds every Saturday morning. Each session and each group of kids is unique, so no two sessions are the same. Some examples of activities from past sessions include hunting for snails after a storm, sliding down snow hills, using age-appropriate hand tools, playing mud kitchen and of course climbing trees. We can confidently say that every session is bound to include a lot of imagination, exploration and play!
As the group is based at the same site for the entire session, children will have the opportunity to foster a deep connection with the natural world, observing the changes that take place both on a weekly basis as well as throughout the seasons. Weekend Adventure Club is led by bilingual, trained Playworkers.
In keeping with Forest School principles, Weekend Adventure Club will be meeting outside. In the event of extreme weather (hail, thunderstorms, and extreme cold in the winter), Weekend Adventure Club will take place indoors. The indoor location for each program is indicated in italics.
